For more than 30 years, Médecins du Monde, a campaigning medical organisation committed to international solidarity, has been caring for the most vulnerable populations at home and abroad. It has continued to highlight obstacles that exist in accessing health care and has secured sustainable improvements in health-for-all policies. Those working for this independent organisation do not solely dispense care and treatment but condemn violations of human dignity and rights and fight to improve matters for populations living in precarious situations. MdM currently works in 44 countries across all continents where it focuses on 4 priority areas: caring for the health of migrants and displaced persons, promoting sexual and reproductive health, harm reduction associated with drug use, emergencies and crisis.
In 2015, UNHCR estimated at nearly 1,000,000 the number of migrants who crossed the Mediterranean Sea. Among them, more than 150 000 landed in Italy and 850 000 in Greece. In that year, the number of people dead or missing in the Mediterranean is estimated at over 3 750. Number that we can assume widely underestimated.
MdM obtained a grant from the DG health to implement a program in 11 European countries with 7 partners. Eight NGOs will support the health authorities of 11 Member States in providing adequate and accessible health services to newly arrived migrants.
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the responsibility of the desk officer, in the headquarters of Médecins du Monde in Paris, you monitor the overall program implementation until the end of the project.
More specially, you will:
-Ensure an efficient and smooth partnership with partners.
-Ensure that the Memorandum of Understanding is respected.
-Lead the capitalization process with the support of the medical coordinator and the information officer.
-Ensure that deliverables and milestones are delivered on time to the DG Health Portal.
-Be responsible for monthly situation reports and final reports of the program.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE NEEDED:
Master’s degree (Project Management, Sciences Po)
Experience in a similar position
Experience in public health programs
Experience in projects funded by international donors (knowledge of DG health) is an asset
Knowledge of Windows environment (Word, Excel...)
Strong knowledge of project follow-up
Good communication qualities and writing skills
Good analytical skills and ability to deal with partners
Ability to manage priorities and organisational competences
Adaptability, capacity to take initiatives, rigor
Languages: fluent French and English
