Contract length: 12 months
The role
The post holder will provide support and technical advice to all health programmes within the region in order to develop, strengthen and review health supply chains. With regular visits to field sites, the individual will actively capacity build and empower CO pharmacists and logisticians in the safe and effective management of medicines and healthcare products.
Qualifications and experience
- Degree in Pharmacy or equivalent Pharmacy qualification
Essential
- Several years' experience in working with pharmaceutical supply chains in fragile contexts.
- Experience of working in the medical NGO sector in West and Central Africa, within complex/large scale country programmes and in emergency response environments.
- Experience in Medical procurement including forecasting, quantification needs and preparing demands.
- Experience in conducting pharmacy, logistics or health assessments / audits.
- Experience in managing a medical warehouse and warehouse staff.
- Experience of working with agencies and coordination groups in a humanitarian setting.
- Experience in capacity building and mentoring clinical and logistic staff.
- Experience working with key institutional donors including ECHO, Global fund, USAID/OFDA.
Desireable
- Experience in Public Health relating to Essential Medicines or National Drug Policies
- Experience in the pharmaceutical industry or a drug regulatory agency in quality assurance.
