Overall objective of the position: As a member of the executive committee, under the management of the Executive Director, you will contribute to the impact of ACF programs and strengthen ACF’s influence and positioning in France and abroad. You will supervise advocacy actions, research and the development of the organization's technical expertise in collaboration with the international Action Against Hunger network, and ACF’s country offices.
You will have four key objectives:
- You will define and ensure the implementation of advocacy, expertise and research strategies.
You will pay close attention to the coherence and quality of all of the organization’s projects and channels of influence, and of their appropriation by the teams in the field. Special emphasis will be placed on major humanitarian crises and technical advocacy, and you will ensure the integration of gender equity into departmental policies and practices. You will also be particularly attentive to the development of ACF's technical sectors and research, to foster innovation in our programs.
In order to meet ACF's goal of becoming an international reference in the fight against hunger**, you will develop and cultivate networks, alliances and coalitions among decision makers, both in France and internationally.**You have a strong advocacy experience, both in France and internationally, and a proven track record in terms of policy and practice changes.
You will represent ACF and will be an ACF’s spokesperson in the media.
Your action will strengthen ACF’s ability to share its knowledge and increase its impact and influence in its areas of expertise. You will define the targets, spaces and opportunities for influence on ACF's priority themes and you will ensure the development of local and national teams’ and partners’ capacities.
- You are an experienced manager.
You will manage your department, and the various services and collaborators (60 people) that constitute it. You will ensure the respect of your department’s budget and action plans and monitor them using dashboards. As a member of the Executive Committee, you will implement the department's major projects as well as ACF's internal agenda of adaptation to changes in the humanitarian environment.
Qualification and previous experience:**
You have at least 15 years of professional experience in the field of humanitarian action and development, acquired in positions of responsibility both at the headquarters of NGOs or international organizations, and in the field. You are recognized for your skills in designing and implementing strategies and action plans for advocacy, lobbying and influencing strategies at both national and international level.
Able to coordinate and manage international networks, you are recognized for your ability to manage projects. You have an in-depth knowledge of the mechanisms of development aid policies and international institutions.
Your excellent communications skills enable you to represent our organization with our regular interlocutors and partners including civil society leaders, media, high-ranking officials…
A good knowledge of ACF's areas of intervention as well as experience in research and innovation would be a plus.
As an experienced manager in senior management or executive positions, you have proven leadership and managerial skills. You know how to mobilise the talents of your collaborators, and are able to rally your teams around innovative projects.
You are familiar with and committed to the missions of Action against Hunger, and your motivation to integrate an international, dynamic, innovative and meaningful associative structure will allow you to be quickly operational in this strategic function within the organization.
You must have an excellent level of written and spoken English.
International mobility is essential (frequent trips).
Status: Executive management level – Permanent Contract
Annual Salary: Based on our salary scale, depending on your level of experience. Restaurant vouchers of 8 € (60% covered by ACF), complementary health insurance (80% covered by ACF), refund of 50% of public transportation costs
