Job description:
Based at the International Secretariat in Paris, the Fundraising Officer will contribute to FIDH’s efforts to raise funds from, and strengthen relationships with funders (private foundations and public bodies) for its projects. He/She seeks new sources of funding to help meet the growing financial needs of the organization. The Fundraising Officer will work in close collaboration with staff members, under the supervision of the Head of Development, and the responsibility of the Executive Director.
Responsibilities of the Fundraising Officer include principally:
Supporting FIDH’s regional and thematic desks to prepare proposals for project support, and to report to donors on the use of these grants
Identifying and soliciting new sources of support by matching FIDH’s strategic priorities with the funding priorities of a broad array of foundations and public funders
Building and maintaining relationships with existing and new funders, including by ensuring that they are informed of developments in FIDH’s work
Contributing to the development of the organization’s fundraising strategy
Contributing to the development, appropriation and use of project evaluation tools
Managing a schedule of proposal and reporting deadlines
Qualifications:
At least 3 years of professional experience in fundraising, grant writing, project development and funder stewardship
Excellent oral and written communication skills in French and English
Excellent interpersonal and representational skills and the ability to work effectively with staff, board members, and funders
Commitment to the goals of FIDH, good understanding of human rights issues, motivation to work in the non-profit sector
Conditions:
Annual gross salary of 33 800 Euros minimum, based on experience.
Fixed term contract of 12 months, full time, starting 15 March 2018
Terms and conditions under French labour law will apply (35 work hours per week)
