Senegal: Regional Institutional Partnership Development (IPD) Intern

SOS Children’s Villages International is the umbrella organisation for the global federation of SOS Children’s Villages. As a non-governmental social development organisation we support children without parental care and families in difficult living conditions through services in care, education, health and emergency relief, and we advocate for the rights of children and young people, in alliance with a great diversity of partners. We work in 135 countries and territories, reaching over one million children, young people, families and caregivers each year. To support us with this important responsibility we are now looking for a committed:

Tasks and Responsibilities

Grant Management & Coordination

Support the IPD Team in developing and implementing tools and templates to support grant management of projects (e.g. tracking tools for reporting, monitoring visits, key milestones, etc.)

Facilitate the review and administrative checks for grant coordination plans, MoUs and Partnership Agreements.

Collect information and documentation on relevant donor regulations and contractual obligations.

Public Funding and Partnership Development

Update and maintain donor directory and profiles, identifying areas of cooperation

Identify funding opportunities relevant to SOS programmes, preparing and sharing briefing notes with relevant stakeholders.

Contribute to the development/review of donor documents (i.e. concept notes, proposals, reports, etc.) in line with SOS and donor requirements.

Identify best practices and lessons learnt in projects across the region, documenting and sharing findings within the WCAF IPD Network.

Support local fundraising efforts through the research of other fundraising channels and innovations in the region (e.g. crowdfunding, events, direct donations, etc.

IPD Team Coordination

Contribute to the quarterly reporting on the regional IPD Action Plan and strategic actions, collecting data from IPD Team members.

Administration of team meetings, ensuring minutes are shared in a timely manner.

Develop and maintain a physical/virtual filing system for IPD team.

Maintain WCAF IPD Network collaboration platforms (i.e. email lists, WhatsApp, virtual collaboration site, quarterly updates, etc.).

Support collaboration with other Fund Development and Communications colleagues (e.g. prepare updates/articles on activities for internal/external communications)

Help organise events (e.g. meetings, trainings and workshops), including preparation, logistics and post-event documentation.

Support the translation of IPD Team documentation and reports.

Other duties and administrative support as required by the IPD Team and Fund Development and Communications Department.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

Post-graduate diploma in international relations/political sciences, project management, or related field

Advanced level French and English writing and communication skills is necessary

Previous related experience and knowledge of proposal writing and donor relations

Excellent internet research and documentation skills

Excellent writing, proofreading, and editing skills, with strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Strong ability to plan, organize, prioritize and multi-task to meet tight deadlines

Dynamic personality who enjoys collaborating on a team and is willing to learn

Highly driven, able to work independently and innovative thinker
