The communications and fundraising manager leads on the strategic development and delivery of communications, maximising the impact of Imagination Afrika’s public engagement to achieve advocacy and fundraising objectives. As a strategic thinker, and an effective communicator, you'll be a confident and skilled decision maker, with the ability to act on your own initiative and make difficult decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee and develop Imagination Afrika’s Communications
Development of integrated communications and fundraising Strategy
Refine core organisational messaging that effectively conveys our work and allows us to communicate in accurately, consistently and in line with our values
Oversee and grow Imagination Afrika’s supporter, campaign and media databases/ mailing lists
Ensure excellent brand management and consistency across all marketing materials and channels
Develop and implement key performance indicators and evaluation of communication and marketing activity across the organisation and report back on progress
Support organisation to ensure general data protection regulation readiness.
Digital marketing
Manage the social media advisor including; daily online presence, ensuring there is engaging and inclusive content for Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
Generate and disseminate quarterly newsletters, press releases and email bulletins
Oversee generation of new content including blogs, video and photos from Imagination Afrika’s activities, team and networks. Identify case studies, coordinate communications and develop briefing papers for the media, and other stakeholders
Oversee Imagination Afrika’s media engagement
Support the development of digital and print marketing collateral.
Campaign Management
Lead on the strategic development and implementation of principal campaign
Develop campaign messaging that is creative, compelling and has broad public appeal, working closely with other members of the team
Develop digital marketing strategies to promote campaign actions and recruit campaigners/champions
Represent campaign with external stakeholders
Coordinate and oversee key campaign events.
Experience and Qualifications
Proven experience of marketing and communications planning and delivery using multiple channels for public outreach and behaviour change.
Experience of using Content Management Systems and social channels
Experience of writing copy for digital channels.
Experience of using Google Analytics and other monitoring tools
Basic knowledge of individual giving fundraising and relevant codes of practice
Understanding of advocacy campaigning theory and tactics.
Fluent in French
