The project “**EU Aid Volunteers Involvement for Increasing People-Centred Humanitarian Response capacity”**, led by Alianza por la Solidaridad aims to boost the humanitarian aid sector's capacity to provide needs-based humanitarian aid in disaster prone and disaster affected areas. Four EU organisations from Italy, Greece, Hungary and Spain will work together with 16 organisations from Latin America and the Caribbean, Africa, Middle East and North African countries, and Asia in different activities, all participating in humanitarian actions.
For the present vacancy, ActionAid Hellas(Greece) will act as sending organisation and Alianza por la Solidaridad Senegal will be the hosting organisation. None of them are faith-based organisations.
Technical tasks
a. Support the financial monitoring of projects.
b. Oversee the management of procurement and logistics functions to ensure full compliance with and application of the relevant Alianza por la Solidaridad and/or donor procurement procedures.
c. Reinforcement of local partners in projects’ financial and administrative justification.
d. Reports drafting.
Communication and Awareness on EU Aid Volunteers Initiative
a. Draft and publish articles describing volunteer's experience in the field and keeping active in social networks;
e. Gather audiovisual materials to be used in public awareness activities in the volunteer's hosting community and/or local community in Europe;
f. In coordination with the NGOs partner of the project, organize and execute a public awareness activity in the hosting country and once back in Europe.
Apprenticeship
A 3 month apprenticeship is foreseen in ActionAid Hellas HQ in Athens (01/08/2018 – 31/10/2018).
Accommodation and insurance during the placement will be covered, plus a monthly allowance. The volunteer will be involved in administration and financial reporting.
Required competences
Studies:
Studies (Bachelor) in Economics, Business Administration, or Accountancy
Desirable, knowledge of humanitarian/development project cycle management knowledge.
Experience and competences:
Computer literacy and knowledge of Microsoft Office applications; ability to learn new applications and support others' IT needs.
Desirable, previous experience in developing or natural disaster affected countries.
Prior volunteer experience.
Languages:

A mandatory two-week training course is part of the selection process. Candidates selected for this training will be required to take part in online preparatory sessions before attending the training.
