SOS Children’s Villages International seeks a dynamic and resourceful intern who will assist the Executive Assistant to the International Director of Region. This individual will be responsible for providing organizational and operational support in the execution of activities related to Management & Strategy. He/She will have an opportunity to participate in special assignments and projects to gain experience and enhance his/her career development and growth.

Location:Dakar - Senegal International Office of the Region West and Central Africa

Tasks and Responsibilities

Under the responsibility of the Executive Assistant, the intern will be responsible for responding to the need for the Management, staff management, and relations with Regional Office Staff, the National Associations.

Main tasks

The intern will:

  • Provide logistics and administrative support to the International Director of region

  • Draft correspondence, make diary and travel management for IDR, management team and selected guests.

  • Prepare briefing materials and presentations for all trips of the IDR

  • Supporting IDR time management through reading, researching, and producing reports and documents; collecting and analyzing information; initiating telecommunications.

  • Write, edit and circulate key memos, reports, correspondence, and announcements for a wide variety of internal and external audiences.

  • Maintain electronic and hard copy filing systems.

  • Is an active and supportive member of the Regional Management Team

  • Consolidate and analyse regional information and data

  • Draw any other tasks assigned by the Assist the Executive Assistant on various topics linked Management objectives

    Requirements

  • Degree in business administration

  • Experience in an NGO is an asset

  • Good knowledge of formal and operational Project management

  • Experience in project management an would be a major asset

  • Good team player with excellent communication skills and detailed oriented collaborator

  • Good mind-set of confidentiality of information respect

  • Positive attitude and excellent problem solving capabilities

  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously

  • Excellent personal & relational skills

  • Strong organizational and communication skills

  • Good working experience with MS office suite

  • Bilingual in French and English

  • Have excellent planning, coordination skills

  • Highly analytical and result oriented

  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously
