France: A Director of Operations

Already a key actor in the field of international humanitarian assistance, over recent years ACF’s volume of operations has considerably developed to the extent that the organization is now considered as the benchmark for hunger relief. In 2015, thanks to the support of its 6000 employees, Action Contre la Faim provided aid to 13,6 million people in more than 46 countries worldwide.

Role and Responsibilities:As a member of the executive committee, the operations director is a leader in the collaboration with the other departments.

In connection with the ACF - International counterparts and partners:

• He/she is responsible for the strategic and operational development of all Action Contre la Faim programs, of their quality and innovation.
• He/she provides overall executive leadership over our country programs and emergency response operations.
• He/she participates as an active member of the organizational leadership team on all humanitarian strategic matters.
• He/she is responsible for the financial performance of our operations and for the international fundraising.
• He/she is accountable to all ACF stakeholders for the progress and performance (impact) of field operations

Main missions: Reporting to the Director-General of ACF-France, your main missions will include:

· Participation and leadership in the executive committee

· Leading the Operations department in its strategic, operational & financial development

· Management of your team with the direct supervision of Regional Directors – Head of Security – Head of Emergency Service – Mission officer - Assistant

· Maximizing impact and value for money of field operations

· Actively contribute to cooperation and integration with the ACF international network

· Representing ACF in high level meetings and media

Qualification and previous experience:

A Master’s Degree and 10 years professional experience including responsibility for directing operations or programmes at the international level (preferably in an NGO or International Organization). You are fully cognisant of the current geopolitical stakes, as well as the way in which humanitarian action has, and is, evolving, enabling you to boost the changes that our organization need. Innovative, your leadership will help your department and other support departments to federate on common projects. Your excellent communications skills enable you to represent our organization with our regular interlocutors and partners including civil society leaders, media, high ranking officials…

You have a thorough grounding in security within our contexts of interventions and general knowledge of budget management. You will also be a leading figure for our interactions with donors.

Fluent French and English essential

Status:Managerial level – Permanent Contract

Annual Salary: Based on our salary scale, depending on your level of experience. Restaurant vouchers of 8 € (60% covered by ACF), complementary health insurance (covered 80% by ACF), refund of 50% of public transportation fees
