The Position:
Reporting to The Union’s Global Director of Conferences and Summits, the World Conference on Tobacco or Health Project Coordinator will liaise with ILGTH, WCTOH committees, Union departments, external partners including WHO and appointed suppliers.
Responsibilities:
§ Coordinate the process and execution of tasks Organisational and Programme Committees including determine the theme, logo, vision, programmatic elements and emphasis of the conference
§ Orchestrate set-up of conference-related systems including registration, exhibition, abstract and session submission, review and allocation, screening of satellites, pre- and post-conference affiliated events, CMEs and conference evaluation
§ In conjunction with the conference communication team and local partners,
o oversee the creation of a dedicated conference website,
o map and manage the calendar of events, advocacy moments, promotional opportunities and planning milestones
o Manage implementation of communication strategy on local and international level
§ Support and expand involvement groups dedicated to tobacco control and lung health/health promotion
§ Assist with high-level, youth and civil society participation
§ Support budgeting and control of finances
§ Identifying grants or sponsorship opportunities for scholarships and defraying costs
§ Preparation of regular and final reports for partners, donors and institutional memory.
§ Facilitate the site selection procedure for the next WCTOH in collaboration with ILGTH
Qualifications:
· Minimum 5 years working experience, preferably in international events organisation
· Master degree preferred
· Fluent in oral and written English
· Proven project management track record, strong organizational skills and results-orientation
· Excellent planning and organisation skills
· Customer-focused
· Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
