35-hour work week
Gross monthly salary: minimum 2,450 euros (13th month) depending on experience. Possibility of recruitment at another level based on a modified job profile.

FIDH (International Federation of Human Rights) is a non-governmental organisation based in Paris whose mission is to promote respect for the principles outlined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. FIDH is a federation of 184 national associations dedicated to the defense of human rights on all five continents.
Responsibilities:**
Under the supervision of the Head of the African desk and the Director of Operations, the program officer will be required to fulfill the following duties**:**
Contribute to consolidating relations between internal and external actors
Facilitate good communication for and from FIDH partners and member organisations in order to strengthen interaction with them;
Together with the Head of Desk, ensure smooth flow of information to members of the FIDH International Board members and the chargés de mission;
Ensure that human rights defenders and partners in the field are accompanied and supported during their travels and meetings with the States, IGOs and NGOs.
Implement the Desk’s action plan, and in particular, program activities related to the fight against the death penalty in Africa
Prepare fact-finding, legal observation, and national advocacy missions, information-sharing and training workshops, and contribute to their follow-up.
With FIDH delegations, organise advocacy activities directed to intergovernmental organisations (IGOs) and governments (using relevant mechanisms and setting up meetings) and participate, if necessary.
.Ensure and coordinate the drafting of documents on denunciations, alerts and information, (press releases, letters to the authorities, urgent appeals, newsletters), and the drafting of fact-finding reports and position papers.
Keep track of the in-house validation of Desk documents.
Coordinate the translation and dissemination of documents, working with the Desks.
With the Communications Department, coordinate the implementation of communication tools specific to the Desk.
Participate in meetings with local, regional and international partners.
When assigned by the Head of the Desk, represent FIDH before IGOs, governments, companies and, as needed, donors and the media.
Contribute to the programming and reporting of the Desk's activities, update the activities monitoring chart (including compilation of indicators and outputs), and prepare activity reports.
Participate in responding to donors calls for tender.
Participate in financial and narrative monitoring of the desk's action programs.
Assist with the Desk's daily administrative and logistical tasks
Qualifications:
At least 3 years of professional experience in a similar role.
Educational level required: Master’s Degree (or equivalent) in Law, International Relations, Human Rights, and/or Political Science.
Fluency in written and spoken French and English required.
Ability to work under pressure, independently, and with a team
Capable of analytical work, drafting, and representation.
