Senegal: Knowledge Management for Early Learning Data and Programmes in West and Central Africa (Consultancy) - UNICEF Regional Office

Purpose of the Assignment

The consultancy aims at:

  • Improving UNICEF regional early learning knowledge management system through gathering and analysis of most recent information and data on early learning indicators, material, programmes and policies;
  • Documenting UNICEF country offices work in support to the early learning agenda and take stock of progresses in terms of coverage, investment and quality since 2012
  • Promote UNICEF country offices and partners capacity building through information sharing and horizontal collaboration
  • Ensure availability of key early learning documents in both English and French for improved used by national teams in the region.
  • Identify innovative approaches to advocacy and programming for the expansion of early learning across WCAR countries and beyond

    Assignment Tasks

    Activities include:

  • Monthly maintenance of early learning data base and education sharepoint page
  • Monthly gathering and analysis of relevant early learning material produced in WCAR countries
  • In collaboration with HQ, other UNICEF RO, technical partners, identification of new research and innovative approached to early learning for information sharing and capacity building purposes
  • Ad hoc support for roll out of Early Learning strategic framework in selected WCAR countries (estimated three field missions)
  • Preparation of monthly webinars on relevant early learning activities, programmes and initiatives
  • Development of bimonthly newsletter on early learning gathering relevant information from the region and beyond for capacity building, advocacy and information purposes.
  • Development of regional mapping of early learning stakeholders and donors
  • Contribute to the coordination of the SDG 4 Coordination ECCE Taskforce (monthly meetings planned as of September 2017)
  • Support the development of regional multi country proposal for early learning for fundraising purposes
  • Support the organization regional early learning events as planned for 2018

    Qualifications of Successful Candidate

    Education

  • Master degree in education ,international development and relevant field
  • Years of relevant experience

  • At least 3 years of experience in the area of early learning and education
  • Fluency in both English and French, Portuguese and Spanish will be an asset
  • Knowledge of WCAR education and early learning context will be an asset
  • Proven experience with knowledge management system building
