Created in 1983, the Bioforce Institute is a non-profit organization that aims to increase the impact and relevance of emergency response and development programs through training and support of stakeholders.
Bioforce leads in France and abroad capacity building actions: training and certification, improved logistics performance of health systems, supporting national actors in crisis response, support to local development initiatives. Bioforce also provides information and guidance programs for persons or organizations that are engaged in aid and development programs. 60 employees - annual budget of 4.5 million euros - www.institutbioforce.fr.
Within the Projects Department of the Institute, you ensure the training coordination of the European Aid Volunteers (EUAV). You are in charge of the quality of the training in relation with Bioforce’s skills clusters, as well as the monitoring / mentoring of the volunteers during training (distance and face to face), on the field (deployment) and after their return (debriefing).
The European Aid Volunteers Training is a project supported by the Bioforce Institute as part of a consortium with the NOHA Network and the NGO RedR. The creation of this position is subject to obtaining the EUAV tender of the European Union (answer expected late February 2016).
Under the supervision of the Bioforce EUAV Program Coordinator, you will support:
The implementation of the European Aid Volunteers Training
Design the organisation of the training in coherence with the content developed by the other partners in the Consortium and in compliance with the EU requirements
Identify the techniquess and training methods promoting student learning in respect with the training identity of the Bioforce Institute
Elaborate the planification of the training programs by ensuring coherence in terms of content and pedagogical progression
Implement the training programs in a quality and efficient way (about 10 programs of 25 European volunteers each year)
Develop the learning evaluation system with the Consortium partners
Draft the evaluations at the end of the programs
Design innovative learning tools based on a variety of techniquess
The identification, monitoring and mentoring of the European Aid Volunteers
Ensure the learning volunteers’ group dynamics, in connection with the volunteers trained by the other Consortium partners (facilitating an "esprit de corps")
Ensure the high quality of the learning conditions during the implementation of the programs
Tutor the volunteers during training, when deployed on the field and at their return
The face to face and on-line facilitation
Facilitation of learning activities (knowledge, skills and behaviours) with appropriate adult learning techniques (face-to-face and online training modules)
Prepare and implement the tools, materials and equipment required for case study and practical exercises
Observe the functioning of the group of volunteers during training and intervene appropriately if conflict
Make sure the internal rules are being respected (attendance, delays)
Coordinate the training evaluation process, submit tests and corrections if appropriate.
Support the financial monitoring of the training programs
Contribute to the elaboration and follow-up of budgets
Contribute to the financial and activity reports to the donor
EXPERIENCE
8 years of professional experience in the humanitarian and development sectors, including 4 years in management / coordination positions (human resources coordinator, country director, program coordinator...).
Experience required in the field of vocational training ( design / facilitation).
TRAINING
Bachelors or Masters Degree in humanitarian projects or learning and development
TECHNICAL SKILLS
Minimum level C1 (see Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) in English and French spoken and written (to conduct training in English and French).
Know how to design, conduct and evaluate a training action.
TRANSVERSAL SKILLS
Proven record of excellent people skills, including good communication and inter-personal skills
Understanding and experience in facilitation of training in foreign cultures.
Ability to express themselves clearly both orally and in writing. Ability to work in teams.
Rigor and organizational skills. Adaptability / responsiveness. Ability to manage priorities.
Professional commitment to humanitarian relief and knowledge of the sector
STATUS
Full time employee or consultant status.
CONTRACT
Financial conditions to be negotiated depending on experience.
Fixed-term contract of 36 months
